The Maldives Bodyboarding Association (MBBA) is a nonprofit sporting association and a member of the International Bodyboarding Corporation. Founded roughly a decade ago in 2013
Maldives Bodyboarding Association (MBBA)
MBBA organizes and sanctions national level competitions, working closely with regional surf organizations to aid grassroots growth, build capacity and help strengthen regulatory frameworks for the sport.
Spread across over a thousand isles and with the country surrounded by 99 percent water, several watersports have gained major popularity and rooted itself within local youth culture. Over the years, bodyboarding and the strong community behind it has achieved several milestones, with local athletes securing numerous awards at international tournaments.

To empower and support local communities by enriching their lives and to bridge opportunities to reach their fullest potential within the disciplines of bodyboarding. Our vision is to provide support for all of bodyboarding by protecting surf ecosystems, marine habitats and local livelihoods.
Mission
To preserve the world renowned waves of Maldives and establish bodyboarding as a premier watersports in the country by providing training and education opportunities to develop capacity across the geographically displaced archipelago.
