About MBBA
Maldives Bodyboarding Association – MBBA
Founded in 2013 the Maldives Body Boarding Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a platform for all body boarders in the Maldives. 99% of the Maldives is surrounded by water making water sports a big part of Maldivian youth culture.
Over the years body boarding has become very popular and the organization has had a lot of success with its members winning numerous awards at international tournaments.
The MBBA organizes and sanction professional events, make new rules for the sport, help promote grassroots growth, strengthen the bonds of friendship between existing associations, classes, and disciplines of body boarding, and provides support and services for all body boarders.

Empowering and supporting local communities to enrich their own lives, and expanding their options and opportunities in reaching their own potential. Protect surf ecosystems, marine habitats, wave integrity, and local livelihoods through advocating for and training in these areas.
VISION
Safeguard iconic waves and livelihood of the local water sports community through regulatory measures, Education, training and providing other capacity development activities.
